Tell me how you are.

Sit across the table and
try not to make eye contact.
Cross legs. Uncross legs.
Fingers drum on the table.

Tell me how you feel.

Authority figure, supposedly
to comfort. Lean in, tries to make
it better, but only causes anguish.
Hand comes out, but retracts.

Tell me what you want.

Can’t. I can’t tell you,
you should know. This
is pointless. Leans back in
chair. Conversation over.
